This week in Art, we’ve been drawing and painting abandoned places of our choice that use perspective techniques and vanishing points. We used water colour paints to paint our pictures.

‘I liked doing this because it was really educational.’ explained Morgan.

Recently in English, we have been finishing off and writing up our prologues based on a clip we watched called ‘RUIN.’ We had to look at sentence types and writing techniques that impact the reader.

‘It was really fun planning our stories and writing them up after editing our drafts!’ exclaimed Kayleigh

In geography we have been learning about mountains we got to choose a mountain it could a volcanic or no. We did 5 or more pages the main five were location, climate, what to do in summer, what to do in winter and where to stay plus lots more. Most people did a book or a leaflet but we could chose how we wanted to lay it out!
‘I enjoyed geography because I love learning about mountains and learning new things!’

This week’s authors are:

Molly, Kayleigh and Morgan

Homework is given out weekly on Tuesday and is due in on Monday. In Literacy, the focus this half term is reading comprehension. Maths homework links to in-class learning to allow the children to consolidate their work. Spellings are tested every week on Friday and children can choose whether to learn ‘Core’, ‘Challenge’ or ‘Extension’ words. The children also have weekly times tables practice which should be evident in homework books.
