Our Residential News!

We have all really enjoyed a full on day today.  After starting the day with a cooked breakfast two groups travelled to a nearby canal for a morning of canoeing.  As we arrived the sun came out and we were able to canoe down the canal in beautiful weather.  We experienced going through a lock and enjoyed a fair amount of splashing!

"I particularly enjoyed soaking Miss Gilbert!"  Henry
"The canoeing was really good." Luke
"I had great fun but I got soaked!" Emily

The other group spent the morning on the low ropes course and on the indoor climbing wall.

"I got to the top of the climbing wall!" Reef.

This afternoon one group went on the low ropes and indoor climbing wall, one group went canoeing and the third group went abseiling.  Chris said that he thought the abseiling was scary at first but then he found it calming.

We are all looking forward to our last activity tomorrow!

We arrived at Dukes Barn at about 11.30am.  We ate our lunch, had a quick tour of where we are staying and before we knew it we were off on our first activity.

The Badgers spent the afternoon weaselling. "There was lots of climbing involved"  Gracie B.  Reuben said that it was quite challenging but you just had to believe in yourself.  The Foxes also went weaselling.  "Even though it was quite hard we all supported each other and had fun. " Mia.  The Owls were lucky enough to go abseiling from a disused railway bridge!  "I thought the abseiling was fun, especially dangling!"  Freddy.  "When you started off it was quite scary but when you got to the bottom it was actually fun." Logan.

This evening we enjoyed a fabulous meal of pizza and chips followed by chocolate cake and custard.

Tomorrow we are looking forward to canoeing and completing the rope course.
