This week we have been learning all about dinosaurs.

“We have been writing questions about dinosaurs and using ipads and books to help us answer them”, said Darcey. Emily tells us, “We have been writing pages for our dinosaur books, I wrote about a Triceratops”. “We have been doing split pin dinosaurs and we wrote instructions on how to make them”, added Kenzie. Isla tell us, “We got to draw some pictures of dinosaurs and even invented our own dinosaurs”. Taylor shares that, “some dinosaurs eat meat, some eat plants and some eat both. We call them Carnivores, Herbivores and Omnivores”. “A Tyrannosaurus Rex is a carnivore and a Diplodocus is a Herbivore” says Jessica. Sam said “We learnt the names of lots of dinosaurs and wrote all about them, for example an Kronosaurus ‘s head is twice the size of a Giganotosaurus’s head”.

Of course, we haven’t just learnt about dinosaurs this week.  Aimee says that “in maths we have been looking at answering multiplication questions”, Harry adds “We did it lots of different ways, such as using objects, using out times tables and arrays helped us too”.  Jerod adds “we used ‘lots of’, times and repeated addition. I found it easy because we had lots of practice of the carpet to help us”.

This week’s show and tell will be all about inventing our own dinosaurs. We have discussed lots of amazing ideas as a class!
