Welcome to Iris
Welcome to Iris Class and thank you for being part of the children’s learning journey as they begin their time at Hall Meadow. Mrs Donald is the Iris Class Teacher and Mrs Coles is a Higher Level Learning Support Assistant working alongside Mrs Donald. We are also really lucky to have additional adults in Iris Class during the week including our Teaching Assistants Miss Day and Mrs Greasley. In Iris Class we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which is fun, creative and has lots of cross-curricular links.
In Reception, we work really hard to increase independence skills, including developing a really positive approach towards our learning. Whilst in the first year at school, we aim to equip the children with the skills, attitudes and positive approach to learning that they will need to be effective learners for the rest of their time at school and ultimately for the rest of their lives.
We look forward to working together with you during the year.
Iris Class Information
Our PE days are Tuesdays and Fridays. Please make sure your child has their PE kit in school at all times and on these days, make sure that earrings are removed. Thank you.
Reading books are changed on a Monday and key words/captions are handed out on a Thursday. Please continue to practise your child’s letter sounds and tricky words in their home learning pack.
We would love to see what you have been getting up to at home! Our online learning journey, Tapestry, is a great way for you to upload observations of the lovely learning your child has been doing at home. It is also a fantastic opportunity for us to share with the child in school and encourage them to talk about their own personal achievements and experiences… So keep on posting!
Home Learning
Please click on the documents below for ideas to support your child’s learning at home which includes a learning grid should your child need to isolate or we are advised to close.
