‘Education is the foundation upon which we build our future.’ Christine Gregoire
As we beginning this new term we can reflect on our successes from Term 3. From winning the Futsal competition to walks to the museum, as always Hall Meadow Primary School has offered a range of learning experiences both inside and outside of the classroom.
Mental Health Awareness day
On Friday 9th February we took part in raising awareness around mental health in schools. In Early Years and Key Stage 1 the children released bubbles to promote this initiative. All of the children discussed this in their classes and looked at ways they can ensure they are mentally healthy.
Upcoming dates for the diary
Please be aware that we have two training days in April 2018. These are 16th and 17th April. Tuesday 17th April will be parent consultation sessions.
Massage in schools
Just as a reminder we are holding two parent sessions in order to explain more about the massage in schools programme. These are on Tuesday 20th February at 3.00pm and Thursday 22nd February at 9.00am.
At Hall Meadow we have decided to introduce this programme, which is well established in many schools across the UK. Studies have shown that, when children give massage to each other, they become calmer, concentrate better and have more confidence. It addressed such issues as awareness of self, others and personnel safety. It also compliments our mindfulness package.
We look forward to seeing you at these sessions.
World Book Day
We will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 1st March 2018. We would like to invite the children to come into school dressed up as their favourite book character. Please do not feel the need to hire costumes, home-made costumes and ideas will make the day more imaginative and fun.
We would like to invite parents and family members to assembly on this day, where we will be awarding the best costumes for children and staff! This will begin at 3.00pm in the school hall.
