Extended CurriculumBecause we work a slightly longer day at Hall Meadow, 2½ hours a week is devoted to what we have termed 'The Extension Curriculum'. Our School vision is to promote self sustaining life long learning and this is evident in all aspects of our teaching.

The extension Curriculum furthers this objective. It is during this part of the day that children are actively encouraged to initiate their own learning. It is a time where they may develop ideas that they have encountered while studying National Curriculum subjects. The children are encouraged to share ideas, feelings and resources thus developing their personal, social and health education.

They are given opportunities to extend their sports, drama, art and music skills and generally learn to acquire skills and attitudes to make informed choices about their own learning. This time also provides opportunities for children to reflect on their learning. We also extend children's learning by giving them opportunity to work in mixed age situations to promote thinking and problem solving.

Teaching & Learning

We are a fully inclusive school, children are always at the centre of everything we do. The curriculum is innovative and provides maximum opportunities for intellectual, social and emotional development. The children study the National Curriculum through themes such as 'Keen to be Green'.
