Admissions procedures for Hall Meadow Primary School are run by the local authority. To apply for a place at the academy parents must submit an application via the NCC website:

The published admission number for Hall Meadow Primary School is 30. When more applications are received than we have places available, our oversubscription admission criteria is applied (by the local authority) to decide to which applicants are offered places.

In each case the criteria are applied in the order of priority stated. In many cases when the published admission number (PAN) is reached within one of the criteria groups, a tiebreaker is used based on distance from the academy. All distance measurements are done on a straight line basis unless the academy states otherwise.

Over subscription criteria at Hall Meadow Primary School

Places will be allocated to pupils who have a statement of SEN or EHC plan that names the

academy as appropriate provision. When there are more applications for places than there are places available, priority will be given in the following order:

  1.  Children in public care or previously in public care but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, residence/child arrangement order or special guardianship order
  2.  Pupils with an older brother or sister continuing at the academy or the linked Junior Academy at the time of admission of the younger child.
  3.  Pupils who live closer to the preferred academy than any other academy.
  4. Other pupils.

Tiebreaker

If the admission number is exceeded within criterion (3) priority will be given to those who live furthest from the nearest alternative academy. If the admission number is exceeded within any other criterion priority will be given to those who live closest to the academy.

Statements of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans

Children who have a statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) which names an academy as the appropriate provision, or who have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan which names an academy as the appropriate provision, are given the highest priority when academy places are allocated.
