Firstly I would like to thank all of the parents, carers and children who attended school yesterday morning. This worked extremely well and the school had an amazing buzz. For future elections or voting, if the school is affected we will now not need to close the school. I will contact parents early next year with plans for this.

This week Apollo visited Hamerton Zoo and even though the weather predictions did not look on our side they had an amazingly warm and bright day. They have had lots to tell us about the experience and clearly really enjoyed the day.

Athena are now ready for their residential trip to Dukes Barn in the next couple of weeks, Ms Pallet met with all parents in order to finalise the arrangements for the trip. I am sure that this will be an amazing opportunity for the children and look forward to hearing the stories when they return.

Ares went for a walk into the town centre this week, and the weather did support us, just! They looked in the Manor House museum and found out about the town’s history. They came back with lots to tell the other children.

We also had a special assembly this week from the library, Mrs Robinson was promoting the summer reading challenge which is a popular event encouraging active readers over the school summer holidays. If you are interested in joining this event then please contact the library.

Tickets for the school show are on sale now; please contact The Lighthouse Theatre direct if you wish to book tickets. Also donations for the hampers are now being taken, please look at the information on the website for further information.

We have had a really busy week this week at Hall Meadow Primary School even though the weather has been against us. Unfortunately this resulted in Aqua Night being cancelled, however we have rearranged this for 4th July and fingers crossed the weather will be kinder to us. We plan to run this from 3.30pm until 5.15pm with the children having their snacks before heading outside.

This week the year 6 class, Ms Pallet and Mrs Caden have been rehearing for the summer show, which has made a pleasing start. Tickets are on sale now for the show on 18th July at the Lighthouse. Letters will be coming out shortly task for hamper donations, please look out for these in book bags and on parent mail.

As a school we have been finalising assessments this week in preparation for the end of year reports, the children have been working extremely hard on these end of year tests.

On Friday 24th June we say Goodbye to Mr Lee, our school caretaker; we wish him all the best in the future and thank him for all of his work and commitment during his time at Hall Meadow.

I would also like to thank PACT for their support during the Queen’s tea party and Sports day. These were very successful community events.

This week Demeter visited the Space centre, which was lots of fun; the children came back from the trip full of stories to tell. They obviously had an action packed day.
