This week we have had a real experience of voting! We went to the polling station and had to put a cross next to the person that we wanted to be our class prefect. It was fun and felt like we were grown up! Getting a chance to vote for something is called a Democracy.

In maths this week we have been able to use all we have learnt about adding and subtracting in tens and ones and have used this to solve money problems. We used the 100Square to help us remember how to jump accurately in tens and ones and to decide if we are moving forwards or backwards.

We got a chance to show off our writing, by writing our own unaided adventure story and also writing instructions for how to create a Scratch programme on the computer.

We really enjoyed watching some film clips this week and talking about what we understood to be happening. It really helped us to develop our language and gave us great ideas for how to improve our description in writing. There are loads on the Literacy Shed website, if you wanted to try this at home. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HfBbSUORvo

Thank you for those who could make it to “Come and Read.” It was great to see people enjoying reading for pleasure.

Enjoy Half Term and we will see you for your appointments on Monday 29th October. You should all have your slips. Thank you to those who have signed up to bring something for our Healthy cooking. The list is on the classroom door.
