This week we have continued our instruction writing by making some “Season Iroquois Masks” from America. We had to learn how to plait, so that we could make the parts for the masks, then we had to write instructions for how to make your own. We have compared our instruction writing to work done last term and can see that we are making progress with our writing, but most of us need to use conjunctions such as , because, otherwise, until more in our instructions to give extra information.

In maths we have been measuring the length of things. We learnt how to measure to the nearest half cm and how to change cm’s into mm by multiplying the number by 10.

In Science, we made a leaflet to teach others about what we have learnt. We are going to give the leaflets to other children in the school to help them to understand about healthy diets and how to make healthy snacks.

In Geography we have been locating islands on a map and trying to explain where they are in the world using compass points.

We continue to find out about festivals and celebrations from other religions and this week have talked about Diwali.
