This week we have begun the exciting task of putting together a play all about the Great Fire of London. We are working collaboratively in groups to plan and perform a script, which will teach other children what we have learned about the fire. We are working on using vocabulary from the past, description and dialogue and this will help us to write a diary next week as if we were there at the fire.

We have continued our work on Time in maths this week and have really made some good progress. Lots of us now can tell the time to the nearest quarter of an hour. Some of us can tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes and are beginning to solve problems involving time.

In Science, we turned statements about plants into questions that we can investigate. We planned our investigations and talked about how we would make them a fair test. We hope to set them up after the Easter holidays. If anyone has any spare soil, pots, seeds or bedding plants lying around, we would gratefully receive them so that we can set up our investigations.

We have been really enjoying our class choir on Friday afternoons. We have been learning how to sing songs in two parts and sing them at the same time. We are improving with this every week and maybe we could invite you to listen soon.

Finally, we look forward to welcoming you to our Art exhibition on Monday, we hope you will be pleased with the results.

Don’t forget the “Zumbathon” taking place in the school hall on Saturday 23rd March. All are welcome, even if you don’t think you can dance. There will be cakes on sale and the opportunity to have lots of fun while exercising.
