This week Apollo have not been put off by the rain! Even though we missed our walk to the top of the estate to do some sketching, we still managed to engage in a really good discussion about how the landscape around us is changing and relate this to the book Window by Jennie Baker. The story has no words so we had to use our inference skills to find the clues and work out what was going on in the story. We then gave our opinions about changing environments, using our skills in reasoning, explaining and justifying. We used our skills in Art to draw our perfect view from a window then used the details of the drawing to write a setting description.
In Maths we have really enjoyed solving puzzles and problems. One of our tasks was to work in pairs to make a 3 by 3 grid add up to 10 in every row or column. Look at the pictures to see if we got them all correct!

In Art, we drew our interpretation of Van Gough’s Sunflowers. We used pastels and thought carefully about colour, line and shape.

In PHSE learning we have been discussing and acting out ways to resolve conflict and develop positive relationships. We looked at an acrostic poem, which gave us strategies we could use such as, “Walk away,” “ignore it,” “talk about it,” or “seek help.

We have begun to learn the songs for the Summer show. Thank you for the permission slips you have returned. The dress rehearsal will be at the theatre on Wednesday 26th June and we are asking you to collect your child from there at 4pm. The performance is on Monday 15th July.
