This week we have been doing some reading research about how to make our own bug house. We have used reading for research to find out about insects and their habitats and have been out around the school to look for evidence of this.

We have written a letter home explaining what materials we will need next week to build out bug homes and have linked this with Design Technology Skills where we have been evaluating existing products and thinking about which features we can use to plan, make and evaluate our own products. In our letters we have shown our understanding about habitats and have used reasoning and explaining to talk about what we will do with the materials in order to provide the best environment for bugs and insects.
We went on a Bug Hunt when the weather had cleared up and spotted many mini -beasts around the school environment. This helped us to think about how we will plan our Bug Houses.
We plan to make our Bug Houses into one big hotel which we will locate in our wildlife area.

We had a successful Dress Rehearsal on Wednesday at the theatre and will continue to practise our dance moves and singing over the next two weeks. Thank you to all of you for providing costumes and collecting at the theatre.
