This week Apollo have been busy practising hard for our Christmas Concert. We are looking forward to seeing you all next Tuesday and Wednesday to share what we’ve been doing.

In maths this week we have been learning about graphs. We learnt that you can collect information in a Tally Chart and that you can use this information to present it in a bar chart or even in a pictogram. We talked about how you can count in different steps up the side of a graph and that this is called a scale. When we created our own pictograms, some of us chose to make the scale go up in twos, so we had to think carefully about how to represent our data if the numbers were odd. (Some of us had to draw half a banana!)

We have also begun our Design Technology project on vehicles. We have been out into the staff car park to look at the staff cars and thought about what cars are made of and what each part does. We also used the toy cars to think about how the wheels move and how each part is attached together. Next week we will be designing and making our own vehicles to help Father Christmas deliver his presents.

Telling the time is tricky!! We will be recapping on O'Clock and half past and also looking at quarter past.

we will be using what we know about how many seconds there are in a minute and how many minutes in an hour to solve simple word problems. Anything you can do to reinforce this at home will be helpful.

Talk about any plants we eat and which part of the plant we eat. Is it the leaf, the bulb, the stem or the flowers?
practise 2, 5 and 10 times table facts and corresponding divisions
