The final week of term has been just as busy as all the others!

We began the week by remembering the Christmas Story and writing our own versions, showing what we have remembered about writing this term. We have been doing many Christmas activities this week including “Cracking Christmas Codes,” using our knowledge of addition, subtraction and Place Value and creating our own Christmas pictures with maths questions for colouring in code.

We LOVED the pantomime on Tuesday. There were lots of laughs and a great time was had by everybody. Thank you for picking your children up promptly from the theatre.

We have also enjoyed making Christmas cards in the classroom. We had a choice of sewing, cutting, sticking and arranging and of course, there was lots of glitter!!

We had a surprise visit from Eddie the Elf on Thursday, who delivered a very special message from Father Christmas. He told the children that Father Christmas was proud of all the hard work they had done this term and encouraged them to keep up the good work in the New Year.

Wishing you all a restful Christmas and we will see you again on Tuesday 7th January, refreshed and ready to learn.

A thinking question……. Next term, our theme is geography based. Over the holidays, could you take some time with your child to talk about any connections you have to places in the world. It may be that you have family there or have visited there, or even that your favourite food comes from there. Take a quick look at a map or globe to find the special place you have chosen. Can you talk about where it is, what other countries are near it? Is it surrounded by sea? What continent is it in?

How you can help!

Telling the time is tricky!! We will be recapping on O'Clock and half past and also looking at quarter past.

we will be using what we know about how many seconds there are in a minute and how many minutes in an hour to solve simple word problems. Anything you can do to reinforce this at home will be helpful.

Talk about any plants we eat and which part of the plant we eat. Is it the leaf, the bulb, the stem or the flowers?
practise 2, 5 and 10 times table facts and corresponding divisions
