This week we have really got our teeth stuck into Information Texts. We have been reading so much information about Jamaica and have been processing and analysing it to organise and write in our own way. We recapped on features of an Information Text and spent time drawing together everything we have found out in order to write our own Information Book all about Jamaica.

Maths has been all about shape. We recalled what we had learnt in Year 1 about 2D shape and used this to help us describe the features of 3D shapes. We learnt about right angles and the names for 7 and 8 sided shapes. We investigated 3D shapes and talked about grouping them by their features.

In Science we have been looking at the suitability of materials. Is a fabric spoon useful? We have used our skills in reasoning to explain why certain materials are better for a job than others.

Last week we learnt about devices which have cameras and talked about how easy it is today to take photographs. Next week we will be taking our own photographs and looking at how to make a subject the centre of the picture and how to focus a device.
