Ares Class have worked extremely hard this week.

Within mathematics the theme has been statistics. We have learnt about mean, mode and medium. They were able to use these to solve problems with data. Within English lessons they have written amazing descriptive stories. They were given a story opener and picture as a stimulus. They continued the story using a range of sentence structures and punctuation for impact.

Ares class are working brilliantly on their inquiry projects! Every class member of the class should be proud of the progress they have made on their projects. Every group has a unique way of presenting their inquiry. I am looking forward to seeing the final presentations! Next week is the final week working on these.

Monday is transfer morning. The children will be entering the school through the outside door for Zeus. They are allowed to bring a pencil case for this morning if they desire.

Please return the permission slips for the Sex and Relationships sessions by Tuesday 11th July.

Friday 14th July is the last swimming lesson of the year.

Homework is given out weekly on Tuesday and is due in on Monday. In Literacy, the focus this half term is reading comprehension. Maths homework links to in-class learning to allow the children to consolidate their work. Spellings are tested every week on Friday and children can choose whether to learn ‘Core’, ‘Challenge’ or ‘Extension’ words. The children also have weekly times tables practice which should be evident in homework books.
