Sections of a book called ‘The Boat’ have been read to us each lesson. We have then been acting these out, persuading different characters to get onto the boat in turn also saving the animals. This allowed us to think about different opinions and work on our persuasive writing.

“Drama for writing was fun for all the class, everyone enjoyed taking turns to persuade grumpy old men to save the animals” exclaimed Grace.

Maths

We were attempting to round both positive and negative numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1000 and higher. This is useful when needing to estimate numbers when an exact figure is not needed, for example number of people at a party to determine the amount of food.

“Rounding numbers was quite difficult at times because they were very large numbers. However, I needed to remember that we only need to look at the end number to determine which way we round,” quoted Sapphire.

PE

During our P.E. lesson this week we completed a fitness circuit, performing various exercises. Some of these exercises were star jumps, discus hold, shuttle runs and spotty dogs.

We also joined in with Joe Wick’s Schools Fitness Week; we performed a 20 minute HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout.

“The shuttle runs were fun but made me work hard for 30 seconds,” explained Keira.
