Thank you for all the generous donations for the harvest festival, the food will be been given to Kettering food bank to help those in need within the Kettering area.
To celebrate harvest, Ares class have been learning about autumnal harvest paintings. We learn all about pointillism. Pointillism was created by Georges Seurat in 1886. It is a form of painting which is created by small dots of colour to create an image. We explored the use of colour then created autumn pictures and pictures of fruits and vegetables. Ares art work has been exceptional; Mrs Green will be making a display to show off the amazing work. Keep a look out!

This week we have been focusing the writing style of explanation texts. We created our own creatures using a mix of two- Catfish, Hedgedog. When writing, we thought very carefully about the impact the sentence structures have on the reader.

In history we have been learning about the Athens and the Spartans, they were very different! We made a diary entry on a life at Athens or Sparta of the different roles of men and women depending on which community they were part of. Then we learnt about the Battle of Marathon. There was a person who ran to send the messages ran 26 miles then died from exhaustion!

In Music we have been singing to the battle of Troy song, but the one we have been leaning this week is called The Wonder of War. We have focusing on changing the pitch of our voices and learnt what a bridge is within songs.
