We have been adding and subtracting decimals in word problems. We have been multiplying by 10, 100, and 1,000. We have been learning sequences of decimal numbers and finding out different times. We have been focusing on reasoning about decimals.


We have been learning about dragon poetry and we had to write a newspaper about a dragon that a dragon breathing fire on top of the house. Apparently this happened on Tuesday in sighwell at 2pm. Our teacher Mrs. Perks things this happened and we had a video. Most of our class things it’s not real.


This week in D/T we have creating our own amour and finding out about rich and old people about what they wear. 

We had a sport compition witch was cricket and hall meadow primary school came first. There is another compition of cricket. HOPE WE COME FIRST AGAIN!!!!!!! 

Most of us have finished most of our shields and some of them look so good. 


Swimming is now on Fridays!

How you can help!

Year 5 are given weekly homework that is set on a Thursday and handed back in for marking on the following Wednesday. This consists of an English activity and a Maths activity. The children are also given weekly spellings to learn, which are tested on a Friday. The mental maths test focusing on times tables will be twice a week. Reading a vital skill, please ensure you are listening to your child read and reading to them on a regular basis.
