Once again, we have had another really busy week in Athena and the children have all worked extremely hard.

In English, we are working on retelling the fable the Hare and the Tortoise. We have completed our plans and have just begun writing our first draft. In Maths, we are coming towards the end of addition and subtraction and we will shortly be focusing on Roman numerals.

In science, we have undertaken an investigation looking at the effect of different drinks on the enamel of our teeth. We will be looking at the results of this investigation next week.

In history, we looked at how the ancient Egyptians mummified their dead. We begun the lesson by trying to mummify one of our classmates and we found that it was much trickier than we thought!

In art, we worked together as a whole class to create a harvest festival wreath. We knitted fields, made salt dough fruit and vegetables, drew tractors and took rubbings of different leaves. We are all really proud of what we have created and it is now hanging in our classroom for everyone to enjoy.
