In key skills, we have been examining the ‘My grandma robbed a bank’ newspaper text.

In maths, we have been playing a game where you choose a number between 0 and 12 and then times it by 3, 4, 6 and 8. Some of the confident children were able to multiply by 12 and 24 by the end of the session.

In D.T, we have been looking at healthy eating because, in Charlotte’s Web, Fern ate a doughnut for breakfast and we didn’t think that this was a healthy choice for the first meal of the day. Therefore, we have been designing a healthy muffin that could be eaten as part of a healthy and balanced breakfast.

In R.E., we have been looking at Advent and Christmas and we will continue to look at this festival of celebration next week.

In English, we have put ourselves in the shoes of Fern Arable, who is one of the main characters in Charlotte’s Web, and we have been writing a letter to an imaginary pen pal in another country.

In science, we have been investigating different materials to see if they are electrical conductors or insulators.

All in all, it has been an extremely busy week in Athena.
