We have had a really lovely week in Athena.

In English, we have just finished writing our first poem and the children produced some really impressive work. What was particularly fantastic was how the children managed to weave in some surrealist imagery into their poetry.

This helped to create powerful pictures in the minds of the audience.

In maths, we are coming to the end of our topic on multiplication and division. However, we will be using the skills and knowledge we have learnt over the past few months to help us master our next topic, which is fractions.

In science, we built string telephones so that we could explore how sounds change over distance. The children really enjoyed this session, as we had the opportunity to do some learning outdoors.

In geography, we learnt all about UK hills and mountains whilst, in R.E., we explored the different Christian festivals that take place during the year.

Finally, in art and design, we are continuing to work on our Salvador Dali inspired piece of artwork. We can’t wait to show off the finished results.
