Although we are rapidly heading towards the end of year four, the children of Athena class are still working hard but are really looking forward to the holidays.

In English, we have been learning all about apostrophes. In particular, we have looked at how apostrophes are used for contraction and also how they are used to indicate possession.

In maths, we have moved onto calculating the perimeter of rectilinear shapes. The children have been learning how to measure accurately using a ruler and we have practised these skills by measuring and recording the perimeter of different size squares and rectangles.

During the afternoon, the children have been presenting their plastic pollution projects to the class. The projects have all been very different and, without exception, everyone of them has been of a very high standard. Thank you Athena class for all your hard work.

Aside from all the learning we have done, sports day on Wednesday was a fabulous event and, this morning, the children watched a live performance of Treasure Island which, judging by the loud cheers and laughter, was thoroughly enjoyed by all Hall Meadow children.

Finally, Mrs Sanderson would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents and children of year four for all their hard work and support this year. It has been a real pleasure getting to know you all. Mrs Sanderson wishes everyone a lovely, safe and restful summer break. See you in September!
