This week a number of the year 4's have written the blog.

In RE, we have been looking at the festival Divali. We watched a video of how Hindus prepare for Divali, cook lots of delicious foods and set up lights to welcome Lakshmi into their homes. The also make rangoli patterns and we’ve been making our own too. Outside in the playground we used different coloured different chalks to create our own rangoli patterns. (written by Jenessa)

In maths, we have been looking at negative numbers by counting through zero, for example: -1, -2 -3. We also worked out how to add on from negative numbers and how to subtract. (written by Maisie)

As part of our English, we were writing a poem about a special or very memorable time. We had an online lesson to teach us how to write brilliant poetry. The person that taught us was called Simon Mole, who is a famous poet – you might have heard some of his poems! (written by Darcey)

This week in physical education we were playing badminton and netball. In badminton, we were practising skills and hitting the shuttlecock. In netball, we played a match and practiced passing. (written by Sam)

As part of our harvest festival assembly some children got to read some of their poems that they wrote.

We also got to watch a live BBC lesson about Wellbeing and Growth mindset. (written by Emily)
