The children have had an excellent week in Demeter class and all the adults are so proud of how well they have settled in to the routines and how well they have followed the instructions given and how hard they have been working – well done to you all.

We have completed some writing about their holiday and also created a story map about some the things they did. We have been practising our number formation as well as ordering numbers in maths. Everyone in the whole school has painted a ‘pebble’ which will be put on display outside the main entrance.

The children were able to say the things that they have enjoyed doing this week:

Rosa: ‘I enjoyed painting and owl on my pebble.’
Nate: ‘I drew the face of a lion on my pebble.’
Elivia: ‘I enjoyed drawing my story map because I like drawing pictures.’
Eli: ‘I liked ordering numbers in maths.’
Ellis: ‘I enjoyed writing about my holiday.’
Risara: ‘I enjoyed drawing my story map and writing about what I did in the holiday.’

Just a few reminders:

  • PE on a Friday – please make sure earrings are removed. Blinds will be closed on a Friday as the children will get changed as soon as they come into school.
  • For Tuesday 12th September please can the children bring in their favourite book for our reading sessions it would be helpful if these were named (it needs to fit in their bookbag and drawer please).
  • Monday 11th September at 4:30pm is Demeter classes induction session; we look forward to seeing you all there.
  • Show and tell rota – The children know which colour group they are in. We ask that items bought for this are able to be kept in their bookbags. The children will only be able to do their show and tell on their colour group day.

Orange group – Monday
Red group – Tuesday
Yellow group – Wednesday
Green group – Thursday
Blue group – Friday

What a great start to the year. We very much look forward to working with you all over the next year.
