Another fantastic week in Demeter class. The children are all trying so very hard and are becoming more confident and independent with their activities. This week we have been thinking about rhyming words in English as well as making sure our sentences makes sense. See if your children can say two words that rhyme. In Maths we have been counting carefully, making patterns and adding together two numbers using numicon.

The children enjoyed using a map in Geography to find items around the school and in Science had fun naming parts of the body. We had a loud music lesson this week using the instruments to make different sounds! We have enjoyed our learning both in and out of the classroom.

This is what the children had to say about our week:

‘I enjoyed using the Bee-bots on the ipads’ – Risara
‘I liked giving the Bee-bots directions to the flower’ – Eli
‘I enjoyed making the music go a bit quick’ – Nate
‘I used tiny cymbals in music today’ – Elivia
‘I liked guided reading this week as we take it in turns to read a page’ – Harriet
‘I like the books I have in guided reading’- Sara
‘I like all the learning we do in Demeter’ - Ruvimbo

Thank for to those who have been completing the planner it has been great to see how much reading has been done at home. Please can you make sure only the planner and reading books are in the folder.

We look forward to reading the children’s One page profiles which need to be handed in on Monday.

Thank you to those parents that were able to attend the Induction evening on Monday, we hope you find it useful. Everyone should have had copies of the resources and we hope that you will find them useful over the year.
