We have completed our dress rehearsal today for our Nativity and are really excited about our performances next week and cannot wait to show you. Please remember that there will be photos available for you to purchase after the performances next week. Thank you for the amazing costumes, they really are fantastic and the children all look so good on the stage.

In Maths this week we have been thinking about measurement. We have measured using the cm ruler and a metre stick. The children worked collaboratively to estimate and measure different objects within the school. Our story this week for English was called ‘ Yum! Yuck!’. The children made some great predictions about the book as well as being able to retell the story. We have been busy hunting for adjectives in the text as well as thinking of our own adjectives to describe parts of the story.

We had a vicar visit our classroom on Thursday as part of our learning in RE about ‘People in Christianity.’ The children wrote some questions to ask him and enjoyed learning lots of new information.

Phonics for this week: ure, ea, ou, ie

What Demeter had to say about their week:

Nate – I liked learning new sounds.
William – I liked measuring objects using a ruler.
Faisal and Sara – I enjoyed doing our Nativity.
Eva – I enjoyed playing games in PE.
Hannah – I liked the Yum! Yuck! Story because Baby Grizzle ate his pizza at the end.

Next Thursday will be the last spelling test until after the holiday.

Homework – the last homework will need to be handed in on Monday11th December the children will not need to hand any homework in on Monday 18th December.

Tickets for the nativity will be sent out at the end of this week.

Thank you Demeter for another fantastic week. You have coped really well with having different adults in the class this week and have made Mrs Powell and Mrs Hay really proud. We hope you have a lovely weekend so that you are ready for our exciting week next week.
