The children have been incredibly excited about our adventure this week and have had some excellent ideas about what we could to get the spell back from the dragon to help the wizard. Thank you for sending in the bags for the children to use it really did help their drama. The children have written an adventure story, a list of items to take on the adventure to help them, as well as creating a poster to try and persuade the dragon come back to Shark Tooth Bay. We can't wait to see what will happen at the end of our drama adventure next week. The writing that the children have created has been amazing and we look forward to more next week.

In Maths, the children have been subtracting two numbers using different resources including drawing their own number line. We have been really impressed with their accuracy and confidence in trying new skills by drawing a number line. We have even managed to solve some problems and some of us have even written our own! WOW.

In phonics this week we have started to learn the split digraphs, this will have a real impact on the children's reading, spelling and writing and they have already started to apply this knowledge in their writing. This week we focused on a-e and i-e. Please use the phonics frog book that we sent home at the beginning of the year to help with their phonics.

The children are looking forward to going to the Manor House Museum tomorrow; we will put photos on next week’s blog of our visit. This week in History we went outside to look at the outside of a house and the features that it has. In Science, we learnt about floating and sinking and carried out an investigation about this thinking carefully about our predictions.

Show and tell: Food – what is your favourite food? What ingredients have you used to make something? Which foods are healthy and unhealthy? Etc.

What did Demeter have to say about their week?

Risara – I really liked learning our spelling test words.
Sara – I enjoyed learning about split digraphs this week.
Adan – I have enjoyed our drama adventure in English.

This is a useful website for the children to use to support their mental maths.

Thank you for your continued support. Have a lovely weekend.
