We looked at a variety of similar pictures as a stimulus this week for the children’s literacy work. We worked on embedding adjectives, asking questions and recording them using the correct punctuation. They also described the character and setting using adjectives and other literary techniques. Can they tell you any?

Maths has been exploring missing numbers and more and less. Some children were challenged to find missing numbers both forwards and backwards using their 2 x table knowledge. Others continued to try and use a number line to help them. Please continue counting in 2s, 5s and 10s at home.

In Geography we used atlases to find different countries and their corresponding flags. We looked at different food customs from around the world and how far food has travelled to get to our plate.

The children enjoyed their sneak peak at the art exhibition on Monday afternoon and were very excited for you all to come and see their hard work. We hope you enjoy your purchased masterpieces. Thank you for supporting the school.

Two children from Demeter joined Mrs Meeks and Mrs Hay on Saturday afternoon for our two hour Zumbathon to raise funds towards a defibrillator. Well done to Nathan and Abby.

Another record breaking week for our reading lottery tickets this week. We beat last week’s score by 1. 19 tickets were issued.

We are really looking forward to our trip on Tuesday.
Parent consultation slips will go out on Monday with your time slot.

No show and tell next week with it being a short week and we have our trip.
