We have been working really hard again in Iris Class this week. Our lead text has been The Little Red Hen. Lots of retelling in speaking and words and some super story maps from the children.

In Maths we have been thinking about telling the time to the hour and then extending this to half past the hour. We have been using an interactive clock to help us.

On Monday, the whole school will be having a Transition Morning where the children will go to their next class and spend the morning with their new teachers. Very exciting.

Thank you for the donations we have received so far for the raffle hamper. We are beginning to have a lovely selection of items. Please return raffle ticket money and stubs next week. Many thanks. And don't forget to get your tickets from the Lighthouse Theatre booking office for the Summer Show 'Pirates of the Curry Bean.'

Home Learning

Once the Induction Period has been completed and the children are in full time attendance they will each receive a booklet of home learning tasks and activities for them to complete on a weekly basis. The most important of which is to read to, and with, your child every day. In addition to this there is a poem to learn to say, sounds and words to recognise and read and a mathematical activity to complete. After Christmas, as the children become developmentally ready, they will each have a small number of words to learn to spell each week.

How you can help!

These websites will help your child to practise skills that they have been learning at school.
