It has been a great pleasure this week to see and hear about the children's projects. There have been some fantastic presentations from the children and some very creative projects. We will continue with the presentations next week so everyone gets a chance. Thank you for your support with this term's homework.

The children have spent some time in Demeter Class with their new teachers and although they were initially anxious they all had a brilliant time and seem much more positive. We have also had the opportunity to visit Demeter Class at other times during the week which the children have really enjoyed.

The children brought home their School Profile on Friday which contained their end of year report. We really hope that you enjoy sharing them with your children and like having a lovely reminder of their first year at school.

Home Learning

Once the Induction Period has been completed and the children are in full time attendance they will each receive a booklet of home learning tasks and activities for them to complete on a weekly basis. The most important of which is to read to, and with, your child every day. In addition to this there is a poem to learn to say, sounds and words to recognise and read and a mathematical activity to complete. After Christmas, as the children become developmentally ready, they will each have a small number of words to learn to spell each week.

How you can help!

These websites will help your child to practise skills that they have been learning at school.
