This week Iris Class have enjoyed learning about repeating patterns. We had two challenges which included finding a pattern in the environment and then creating our own pattern and talking about it to Mrs Coles or Miss Greener. Can you find a pattern or a repeating pattern at home? If you could take a photo of your repeating pattern and add it to the ILD that would be great.

We have learnt two new digraphs, 'sh' and 'ch,' this week and thought about words that have these sounds in them. Remember that 'train' doesn't start with 'ch.'

We have also been very busy with Nativity rehearsals, working hard to put on a good show for everyone. Thank you to those who have brought in their costumes ready for our dress rehearsals. Those yet to bring costumes in please could we have them as soon as possible. Tickets for the Nativity performances will be sent home next week.

Home Learning

Once the Induction Period has been completed and the children are in full time attendance they will each receive a booklet of home learning tasks and activities for them to complete on a weekly basis. The most important of which is to read to, and with, your child every day. In addition to this there is a poem to learn to say, sounds and words to recognise and read and a mathematical activity to complete. After Christmas, as the children become developmentally ready, they will each have a small number of words to learn to spell each week.

How you can help!

These websites will help your child to practise skills that they have been learning at school.
