The Nativity rehearsals are well underway and the full dress rehearsal has taken place. The children all looked amazing in the costumes that you have kindly provided and we are really looking forward to sharing with you and your family next week.

We have been learning about how the Christian religion celebrate at this time of year and have been sequencing the story from the Christian Bible in words and pictures . The classroom has been a hive of activity with beautiful singing and we have all added a card to the gratitude tree in school with some very thoughtful ideas.

The creative area is extremely busy and the glitter is out, so keep yours eyes peeled for some wonderful creations. Could you please also keep your eyes peeled for a lost jumper that is named, if it turns up at your house could you please return to it's rightful owner. We look forward to welcoming Mrs Dickens back from her travels next week and hope that she has missed us as much as we have missed her.

Home Learning

Once the Induction Period has been completed and the children are in full time attendance they will each receive a booklet of home learning tasks and activities for them to complete on a weekly basis. The most important of which is to read to, and with, your child every day. In addition to this there is a poem to learn to say, sounds and words to recognise and read and a mathematical activity to complete. After Christmas, as the children become developmentally ready, they will each have a small number of words to learn to spell each week.

How you can help!

These websites will help your child to practise skills that they have been learning at school.
