Can you believe that we only have one full week left at school? The weeks have just flown by and the children are getting really excited about moving to Demeter Class.

We hope you all enjoyed our class assembly. The children were so confident and really keen to share lots of their learning with you. They were really excited about performing and it was so lovely to see so many people there to share it with them. I'm sure you would agree that they spoke clearly and loudly and were such a credit to you all. We were all super proud of them!

A few messages and reminders for you:-

* On Monday we will be collecting in all reading and library books so please ensure that they are all in your child's bookbag

* The school show, 'Oh What a Knight!' showcasing years two to six, takes place on Monday evening at 7pm at the Lighthouse Theatre. There are still tickets available if you'd like to come along and support the school and have a lovely evening

* On Wednesday afternoon, starting at 1pm, our Sports Afternoon will take place. All are welcome. Bring a blanket or a chair and join us for a fun-filled afternoon

* On Friday morning, all of the children will be entertained by a production of 'Treasure Island' in the school hall

* Friday evening is also the school disco. Please bring your slips and money by Wednesday if your child wishes to attend

Many thanks

Home Learning

At the beginning of each new term the children will receive a booklet of home learning tasks and activities for them to complete and work on each week. The most important part of home learning is to talk with your child, read to, and with your child, every day and record this in their School Planners and allow them to think for themselves and develop their independence skills. After Christmas, as the children become developmentally ready, they will each have a small number of simple words to learn to spell each week.

How you can help!

Help to develop questioning skills and encouraging the children to record their own independent learning would really help the children.
