This week Poseidon has published their stories to make a class book based on ‘I’ll take you to Mrs Cole’. The children have worked extremely hard on their structure: good paragraphing and sentences.

Benjamin - “Mine was called Mr Brainy”.
Anuli’s was called “Mrs Creep”.
Mahdi’s was called “Mr Toe”.

On Tuesday, we made ‘rain’ music using instruments we made.

In French we have been learning sentences and Christmas words.

They have all been superstars this week with column addition – showing superb place value understanding and good presentation of number – well done.

On Wednesday, we drafted our persuasive pieces about stopping deforestation. These were edited and peer assessed on Thursday ready to publish using neat, joined handwriting on Friday – these will be in our end of year portfolios. They have used persuasive devices and structural features confidently to hook the reader and persuade them on their view.

We have finished learning multiplication and division for this term and will revisit next year. We will be looking at an investigation using our systematic and collaborative skills to identify a number using clues at the end of the week.

In Geography we have focused our attention on South America and the different land and river features. To start off our lesson we sorted famous landmarks of America into two groups: Physical geographical features and, Human geographical features. Then we debated about whether ‘Central Park’ is human or physical – some very interesting views!

Some of us found out the similarities and differences from this to North America. We found that there are 195 countries in the whole world!

We have started reading our new class text “Hodgeheg”. We have been playing Alex on the IPad.
