To start off our Science week on 'exploration and discovery' we used our 'Science cave' to explore materials and colours and which could be seen in the dark.
The children explored a dark cave, mirror writing and looking for reflections.

As for discovery, we found out that 2 mirrors makes different reflections and that white is good at reflecting and bright colours can be seen in the dark.

At the start of the week were recapping on grid method for multiplication.

Later on in the week we began looking at our new literacy topic 'instructional writing' and made Anglo - Saxon honey shortbread following a set of instructions - they all turned out great and the children all assured me that they tasted 'yummy'.
'I loved that it was crispy and yummy' Benjamin.
'Yummy' Rowan
'I enjoyed that we could use learning and making something together, fun' Anuli.

In maths we began our revisit on shape by exploring 3D shapes and their properties and nets. 'I enjoyed being able to describe a triangular based pyramid' Lydia.

In DT the children planned and designed their own dream catcher ready for next weeks construction. Following this we did some more technical practising with sewing and weaving.

After finding out about Mr Hawkins passing away this week we took the opportunity in watching a short clip on CBBC Newsround.
