Last week we were very pleased with the turn out for our class assembly about WW2. We wrote our invites to our VE day party to celebrate the end of war. In ICT we looked at cyberbullying. In Maths last week we practised telling the time. In science we tested reflective materials.

This week we began the week celebrating the end of our topic and end of the war by inviting you all to join us in a VE day party picnic. The children dressed up in nice party clothes and played games: skipping rope, dominoes and drafts. Thank you for all of the parent support - the children had a fantastic time outside with you all. Ready for the party the children made carrot cookies (a recipe from WW2) to share with the adults.

In literacy we did some creative writing about a dragon story using some WOW words and description.

On Wednesday we were detectives investigating Propaganda posters and what they represent followed by outside learning, exploring the playground for different types of lines.

On Friday, we did some problem solving activities in maths and in the afternoon we designed our own propaganda poster to encourage people to help the war effort or join the army.

Have a happy and safe half term - inquiry next term :)
