All of the children had a great time on our trip to Bosworth Battlefield last week. We learnt lots about how the Romans lived and why the army was so strong. Children got to re-enact a Roman battle and really enjoyed learning how to protect themselves with their shields. The day also including making our own Roman coins, trying on old Roman clothes and learning about how life changed for the Celts when the Romans arrived in Britain. Overall it was a really great day!
Our focus for literacy this week has been our trip. The whole class showed an amazing understanding of when we need to write in the past tense and which person perspective to use in their writing.

Poseidon continued looking at forces in science this week, with a focus on friction! All of the children were super in carrying out an experiment testing different materials and how much friction they had.

Everyone continues to embrace our Roman topic and is really enjoying learning more and more about the Romans.
Here’s to another great week!

How you can help!

Practising spellings with your child for a short time regularly is the best way to help them learn. Reading at home with your children regularly is also a great help to their learning. Children have an independent reading book that they take home with them and this can be changed within the classroom once they have finished reading it. Each child then works within a group to read a more difficult book, guided by an adult. This is a guided session so we talk through the book in lots of detail.
