his week we have all been very busy and working hard on loads of things. We are going to share some of our favourite things.

We have been working hard on writing a story each day based on different pictures to inspire us. Each day our story focused on a different aspect of grammar. On Friday we started to do a persuasive piece about why we should be the next Marvel / DC superhero! What super power you would have?

“I have enjoyed doing descriptive writing as it is fun because I can use my imagination.”
“I have enjoyed writing about what super hero I want to be.”

Zeus class have been working on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals. Also some people have been extending themselves by completing word problems involving decimals.

“I have learnt how to divide and multiply decimals in an easier way.”
“I have learnt how to divide decimals”

In art we have been doing a lot of water colour painting. We mixed different colours together to make new colours that we got to name. Also we had to paint a landscape inspired by David Hockney.

“I enjoyed mixing colours and naming them.”
“I enjoyed painting a landscape.”

How you can help!

Home Learning

Year 6 are given weekly homework that is set on a Friday and handed back in for marking on a Thursday. This consists of an English activity and a Maths activity. The children are also given weekly spellings to learn which are tested on a Friday. Homework is an important part of a child’s transition to secondary school, as when they are there they will be expected to balance and meet deadlines, so please encourage your child to complete their homework on time. Your child may also want to complete extra revision of topics they have struggled with at school.
