This week in maths we have been revising different areas of the reasoning paper. So far we have covered 2d and 3d shapes, symmetry, reflection and word problems. In the mornings, we have been covering addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
“I have enjoyed revising because it has brought back things I need to remember and now I can confidently answer difficult questions correctly. “ Evie

This week we have been looking at different tenses e.g. present perfect and past perfect. We have also been looking at different spelling patterns.
“I love SPAG because it’s fun” Marah

We have been practicing our netball skills to pick a netball team for the netball league. We have enjoyed starting to be able to go outside for P.E!

On Tuesday we made a Mayan/Mexican feast. We had a fun day making the chilli con carnie, nachos and lemonade. All our parents really enjoyed the food and thank you to all the parents who came.

How you can help!

Year 6 are given weekly homework that is set on a Friday and handed back in for marking on the following Thursday. This consists of an English activity and a Maths activity. The children are also given weekly spellings to learn, which are tested on a Monday.

Home Learning

Please continue to support your child by encouraging them to read widely and frequently. They should also be discussing their reading with an adult on a regular basis.
Ensuring that your child is fluent with their multiplication tables is also incredibly beneficial for them. There are lots of ways that these facts can be practiced; chanting, singing, games, apps, web sites or simply writing them out.
