This week in Zeus class we have had lots of fun across all subjects and are looking forward to next week.

This week in Maths, we’ve been looking at and focusing on multiplying and dividing fractions. We learnt the method for dividing fractions: Keep, Change, Flip. ( KCF )

‘I enjoyed fractions and learning how to multiply them’ quoted by Madison.

In science we have been thinking about light, the way in which it travels and how we see things. Our group task was to create a short children’s television programme to teach our target audience about ‘How we see.’

On Friday afternoon we were lucky enough to have a visiting coach take us for a football skills session. We thoroughly enjoyed learning new skills and the competitive element to the game “King of the Ring”.

Year 6 are given weekly homework that is set on a Friday and handed back in for marking on the following Thursday. This consists of an English activity and a Maths activity. The children are also given weekly spellings to learn, which are tested on a Monday.

Home Learning

Please continue to support your child by encouraging them to read widely and frequently. They should also be discussing their reading with an adult on a regular basis.
Ensuring that your child is fluent with their multiplication tables is also incredibly beneficial for them. There are lots of ways that these facts can be practiced; chanting, singing, games, apps, web sites or simply writing them out.
