Year 3 - Poseidon

Welcome to Year 3 in Poseidon Class. Named after Poseidon, one of the Twelve Olympians in ancient Greek mythology, this class draws inspiration from the god who presided over the sea, storms, earthquakes, and horses. Year 3 marks the beginning of the Key Stage 2 (KS2) journey, a significant part of the National Curriculum for pupils aged 7 to 11 in England. This stage provides the foundation for key academic and personal development, covering a broad range of subjects and skills that prepare pupils for their educational progression.

Curriculum Overview
Key Stage 2 covers numerous subjects, including English, mathematics, science, art, computing, geography, history, religious education (RE), foreign languages, and physical education (PE). Year 3 is an exciting time as pupils begin their exploration of these areas with an emphasis on nurturing curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning.
